Strung in Time is a soft redesign of Zanotta’s iconic Sciangai coat rack, created during my CMF Design Master’s at Poli.Design, founded by Politecnico di Milano. Inspired by the emotional power of music as a vessel for memory and cultural identity, this variation draws on the rich heritage of the Egyptian Oud. Much like the Oud, the design features warm wood tones, curved silhouettes, and a quiet rhythm that evokes storytelling through form. By weaving Egyptian influences into the surface, material, and color direction, Strung in Time pays tribute to both personal and collective heritage—while honoring Zanotta’s emotional brand values of timelessness, playfulness, and elegance. This piece reflects a dialogue between tradition and innovation, transforming surface into narrative and furniture into instrument.
